Sequim is weird.

This is the name of one of the roads in town.

Sequim to Port Angeles.

Today, Erik and I went on an 18 mile bike ride from Sequim to Port Angeles. There is a great trail that goes between the two towns that took us through farmlands, forests and along the ocean.

When we got to Port Angeles, we met up with my mom and went to a few shops around the town. Instead of riding back home, I drove back with my mom. She had some errands she wanted me to run with her (helping her pick out jewelry at The Stain Glass shop and going to the fabric store). Naturally, Erik didn't want to go with us so he headed back home. He rode all the way back, through Sequim and up a VERY LARGE hill to our house.
He totaled 40 miles for the day!

Erik got hungry and stopped at this trailer along the way that sold Mexican food. The food looked pretty good actually... we'll see how he feels tomorrow though.

Canon Powershot SD1000

I bought a new camera.
My current camera hasn't been doing to well lately. It was getting old and had so many things wrong with it. I knew it was only a matter of time until it stopped working.

Everywhere I looked said this one was the best. It was the top seller on every website I looked at and got really good reviews. I'm so excited.

I did a really dumb thing though. I bought it online on amazon.com and they were having this special where I could get free 2-day delivery. I was really happy that it would come in the mail on Friday and I would be able to use it the rest of the time I'm in Washington! It wasn't until it had already been shipped that I realized I had it sent to my address in Provo.
Dang it!

I won't even get to use it until I go back to Utah on September 2nd. So much for the 2-day delivery...

Kayaking.

On Monday, my family and I went on a kayaking excursion on the Fresh Water Bay.

I wasn't that excited when I first found out about this kayaking trip; I had this irrational fear that I was going to tip my kayak and drown. Plus, I had to wear a wet-suit.

But, it turned out to be a really, really fun experience. We kayaked about 4 miles and got to see a lot of cool things like star fish, sea anemones and a colony of seals.

I didn't fall in the water either... didn't even come close!

Leah.

I'm in Washington now for the next 2 weeks.

Today we met up with an old friend, Leah Smith. She lives in Idaho now but she was visiting a friend in Mount Vernon. She was flying home today and we got together at a mall in Lynnwood while she was on her way to the airport.
Its been about 5 years since I last saw her and it was so good seeing her again. We've been friends since middle school in Germany. We always had so much fun together doing crazy things and going on multiple trips to Italy and France.

And she's pregnant!! 19 weeks!
She finds out whether it is a boy or girl on Tuesday.

Update: It's a boy!

Bachelorette Party.

We had sort of a pseudo-bachelorette party for Melissa today. Her best friend Mitch wanted to get her something "sassy" but didn't want to come to her bridal shower on Wednesday (we did invite him). So, we had this little get together and invited the newlywed couple, Stacy and Steve, too.
It was pretty low-key with pizza and Ben and Jerry's ice cream. We just sat around chatting just like old times when Stacy and Melissa still lived here.

Melissa would die if she knew this picture was on here. No worries, I don't think she actually knows about my blog so I doubt she'll be seeing this.

Craig Peterson.

Craig Peterson, another friend from Germany, came home a few days ago from his mission in Hawaii. A bunch of us went over to his house in Orem and surprised him. It was seeing him and its good to have him back.
He's still the same old Craig.
