Weekend in Washington.

If you remember, I went to Washington two weekends ago.

We visited Ally in Seattle.
She took us around the city.
We went to Pike's Place Market and watched them throw fish around.
We ate at Ivar's.
We fed Seagulls.
Then we hopped on a ferry and went to Sequim for the rest of the weekend.

While I was in Sequim I got to see this:
It's hard to tell from the photo, but that little rodent is actually Eddy.
He was happy to see me.

Skype.

After six months of long distance, talking on the phone every night, Paul and I finally discovered Skype.
It's great.

Why didn't any of you people tell us about it sooner?

My weekend plans.

Happy 24th of July.
Today is a holiday for everyone lucky enough to live in Utah.
Three day weekend!

A few weeks ago, I was informed that my parents were having their favorite (future) son-in-law up to Sequim for the weekend to help with slide-show stuff and other technical computer things that Paul is good at.

When I found out about this I was like WHAT?!
My parents get to spend the weekend with Paul and I don't?
Not allowed.

So, I invited myself to come.
I fly to Sequim tomorrow and Paul is going to pick me up from the airport on his way up from Oregon.
It's going to be quite the weekend.
Too bad you're going to miss it.

Cleaning out my closet.

Have you tried to sell any of you clothes at Plato's Closet?
If you have, you know that it is a brutal experience.

Every time you try to sell anything there, you walk out of there with no money and no self-esteem.
(As Ally so adequately described it)

You bring bags of your best (used) clothes and wait as they go through them and turn their nose up at everything they see.
After they have finished rejecting your wardrobe, they give you about $8 for the few items they deemed worthy enough for the store.

Well, Plato's Closet must have been on my side today.
I brought in some clothes from when I cleaned out my closet last weekend and walked out of there 90 bucks richer.
Score.

One month away.

Lots of exciting things today.

Finally figured out what pictures we are sending out in invitations.
So, you get the pleasure of seeing the rest of the bunch.
(Enjoy)

I was at a dress fitting this morning at Alta Moda and found out that Utah Valley Bride Magazine wants to feature Paul and I in the next issue of their magazine.
(Seriously)

However, the most exciting thing about today was when I looked at my calendar and realized that today was July 22nd.
I am getting married in exactly ONE MONTH from today.
(Hooray)

Apparently Paul doesn't like weddings.

Paul and I are currently in the process of gathering photos for a slide show for the wedding.
A few days ago Paul's mom gave me a CD with all of Paul's pictures.
I was looking through it when I came across these little gems:

Pictures of Paul pouting at every one of his siblings' weddings.
I hope he behaves better at our wedding...
Enjoy.

Relatives.

Last Sunday, Paul had the pleasure of meeting my relatives in Lehi.
This is my mom's side of the family and let's just say, I was a little scared for him.
But, it went well. Everyone behaved, they didn't harass him too much and he was only offered a beer once.
In the end, it was a fun night and thankfully Paul still wants to marry me.

After dinner, we all went outside to play around with my Grandpa's collection of four-wheelers and motorcycles.
There was this old, motor scooter that was a little broken but we were determined to get it started.
After a lot of tinkering around with it, they finally got going.
But, the throttle was messed up so it was stuck on full-speed.

Paul was the only one brave/stupid enough to ride the out-of-control scooter.

Everything was going fine until the scooter decided to suddenly stop out of no where and caused him to be thrown off the scooter.

He ended up getting his hand, elbow and hip all scraped up.
Poor guy.

Luckily he didn't scrape up his face.
That would have been bad considering we were getting engagement photos the very next morning...

Paul also got to meet some of my relatives on my dad's side of the family last weekend.
As expected, that went well.
The Peet's are pretty normal.

Engagements.

Oh man.
They turned out so good.

4th of July.

Hey Mom, you know all those giant sparklers you bought for my wedding and have stored in my basement?
Well, Paul and I "tested" them for you this weekend.

Thanks.

The Dress.

My mom and I paid a little visit to Alta Moda today.
Let's just say it was a success.

It's been awhile.

The last couple weeks have been crazy.
Much has happened.
Unfortunately, I have been too busy/stressed out with taking the DAT and getting my dental school applications together to blog about anything.
Words cannot describe how relieved I am to be done.

And now, after spending the last ten days in Oregon, Mountlake Terrace (where I took the DAT), Seattle, Chicago, Sequim and Fairview/Gunnison (for Paul's family reunion) I am back in Provo to take summer classes and most importantly:
plan my wedding.

My mom is flying in tomorrow and we are going to
plan, plan, plan.
It's going to be a jammed packed week.
I'm pretty excited.

Snakes.

So, the house I live here in Oregon is really quite cute.
I have no complaints.
Except, for the lawn. It is horrible. I've never seen anything like it.
It looks like that lawn has never been mowed.
There are weeds that are literally taller than me. I'm not even kidding me.
Take a look for yourself:

Last Sunday morning, there was a knock on the door.
It was a police officer.
Apparently, there had been a complaint about the lawn.

He issued a citation to my roommate (the girl who owns the house) and she had two days to take care of it.
Yikes.
So, the poor girl spent her entire Memorial Day in the yard.
It looks great.

Wednesday comes along and the weather was amazing.
It was so nice and warm outside. 85 degrees.
I decided to go lay out in the freshly mowed backyard and get some sun while I studied.
I found some lawn chairs in the garage and set them up in the backyard and got to studying.
Within a couple minutes, I see something moving.
I look and its a snake.

I freaked out!
But, it was so nice outside I decided to stay out a little longer.
But then, another snake shows up.
Then another.
And ANOTHER.

5 snakes total!

They were only gardener (garter?) snakes. I know they're harmless.
But, I had to get out of there.

But, I was in the middle of the backyard.
And I was bare foot.
And there were 5 snakes blocking my path back to the house.
How was I supposed to get back inside the house?

It took a lot of maneuvering with my two lawn chairs.
But I was able to successfully make it inside without ever touching the ground.

I will NEVER step foot in the backyard ever again.

New Shoes.

Last week was the Nordstrom Half-Yearly sale.
Did you go? I sure did.
And I got these:

I guess their nothing too spectacular.
But, they are certainly a step above the Old Navy $5 flip-flops I usually wear all summer. And I love them.
I feel 10 times more stylish the moment I put them on.
Guaranteed, if you see me at all this summer I will be wearing them.

Fun in Sequim.

Last weekend, Paul and I went up to Sequim to chill with my family and hang out with Ally before she started her internship.
We also went up to announce our engagement.
I decided to surprise them and see how long it took them to figure it out.
It took them a little while to notice the ring on my finger but they were pretty excited once they did.

My family has a thing for tide pools.
We go to them all the time.
Last weekend we went out to tide pools at Sequim Bay.
For once, we got there when the tide was out and were able to find lots of little critters.
Later, we had ourselves a BBQ.

I dedicate this photo to you Ally. Here is your duck.

Eddy looks scared.

Ally is so colorful.

My Missionaries.

I think its about time I give a shout-out to my Sister Missionaries:

Sister (Heidi) Morris

This adorable girl is currently serving in the Provo, UT mission.
Next week is her 5 month mark.

Sister (Heather) Low

Heather is serving in the Budapest, Hungary mission.
After 3 long months in the MTC, Heather finally made it to Hungary on Monday.

When it came to living with these girls, there was NEVER a dull moment.
Words cannot express how much I love and miss them.
Last semester just wasn't the same without them around.
But, I am so very proud of them and cannot wait to get more letters!
