Resolutions.

At the beginning of the year, I wrote out a list of 40 things I wanted to accomplish in 2008; New years resolutions, if you will. I was looking over them a couple days ago. Half a year has passed. Let's see how I've done:

1. Bring up my GPA (um... haven't accomplished that just yet.)
2. Go to Hawaii (upon snooping in my parents e-mail a few days ago, Ally discovered reservations for a hotel in Hawaii for a family of five in August. So, CHECK.)
5. Save money and stop spending so much (refer to this post. Christian Dior. Enough said.)
8. Cook more (I have yet to cook a single meal this year...)
9. Go to the gym 2-3 times per week (haha. Yeah right.)
10. Sew something and FINISH it (I'm pretty sure I'll go my entire life without accomplishing this one)
12. Get a new black purse (CHECK. I've actually bought myself 2 new black purses so far. Refer to resolution number 5)
15. Run (refer to resolution number 9)
17. Take more pictures (CHECK. But, I guess I could always take more)
22. Road trip (CHECK. Refer to this post)
23. Have an adventure (CHECK. I went to Vegas by myself in June for a course at the Dental school. That was quite the adventure. Plus, I'm going to Guatemala in August... that will definitely be an adventure)
31. Win something (CHECK!! Refer to this post and this post. A DVD player, an iPod and a gas card. I say I've dominated this one)
33. Don't get married (CHECK. Not like it was hard though.)
35. Decorate (CHECK. Thanks to an IKEA trip in May, Heidi, Ally and I sucessfully redecorated our living room)
36. Clean out my closet (Not quite. I started to last weekend. But then my friend Tyler called and I went and got all-you-can-eat sushi with him instead. The small amount that I actually accomplished is currently laying on the floor in my room and will probably remain there for the next couple of months)
40. Take more risks (Not really. I feel like I've been really lame lately)

So, there is the list (well, most of it at least. I chose to leave out a couple resolutions...) In conclusion, it is July and I have failed to accomplish all but 8 of my 40 resolutions. Not good. On the bright side, its only July. I still have 5 more months...

Rexburg.

Saturday night, I texted Jay asking him what he was up to. He asked me if I wanted to go to Rexburg. I said sure. He knew someone throwing a party up there and wanted to go. So, we (Jay, Ally and I) left Salt Lake at about 6:00, got to Rexburg at about 10:30, partied for a couple of hours and then turned around and drove back. It was quite the adventure. We didn't get home until 5:30 in the morning and I had to be up in a couple hours later for a meeting. So tired.

Unfortunately, these are the only pictures I managed to take of the trip.

I offered to pay for gas on the way home. Lucky me, though. I still seem to be on my winning streak and I ended up winning a $20 gas card. That was nice.

New.

It’s been approximately 45 days since I last posted anything on here. Long time. And while much has happened, I’m really not in the mood to play catch-up. I’ll save that for later (and by later I mean never).
However, I am in the mood to tell you about my newest purchase: the Dior Strassy 1 sunglasses.
Christian Dior. Enough said.

At the Drive In.

After dinner with Sam and Jessica on Saturday night, we were looking for something fun for the five of us to do. After brainstorming for awhile, we decided we wanted to go a drive-in movie theatre and did a little research and found one in Salt Lake. So, we threw a bunch of blankets and couple of bean bag chairs into the back of my truck (oh yeah, I drive a truck now) and went up there and watched Iron Man from the back of the truck. So fun. It was a little windy but we had a bunch of blankets and were pretty bundled up. It was fun to do something different other than the usual Provo Scene. On the way back, we stopped because it started raining and we wanted to bring some of the blankets in so they wouldn't be wet. Jessica had brought a really big body pillow and it was no longer in the truck. It had flown out sometime while we were driving. haha. I feel sorry for the person driving behind us at the time... Taking the bean bag to the truck
In the elevator
Waiting for the other girls

Eddy.

This is Eddy.

He is my parents new dog. Cutest thing ever.

This is Eddy running on the beach at La Push. Look at him go! He's not even touching the ground.

La Push.

Today we drove out to La Push and went to First Beach (or was it Second Beach? I can't remember). La Push is an Indian Reservation close to where my parents live in Sequim. We hiked around and took a lot of pictures. Eddy got to come. He loved it.

And no, it wasn't really sunglasses weather. I'm just having eye problems again. Its that same kind of corneal abrasion type thing that I had a couple of weeks ago, only this time not as bad because I can open my eyes and see. I'm actually wearing two pairs of glasses in these pictures.
Oh man. It has definitely not been a good eye year for me.

The Zoo and the Circus.

We finished finals on Wednesday and hopped on a plane to come to Sequim for a couple of days to visit my parents and celebrate my mom's birthday. Yesterday, we headed to Seattle for the day. First, we went to the Zoo. Its the same zoo we would go to all the time that one year we lived in Washington about 13 years ago. Then we went to dinner with some family friends who I haven't seen for about 15 years. After that we went to the Cirque du Soleil show Corteo. Pretty cool. It was a fun day. We didn't get back until way late.

Here are some pictures from the Zoo. My mom was there too. She was the one taking all the pictures and didn't make it into any of them. No pictures of Corteo though... cameras weren't aloud.

On a side note, I managed to rip a very large hole into the inner thigh of the jeans I was wearing that day. True Religions. It happened at the beginning of the day and continued to get bigger as the day went on. I wasn't too happy with that.

Going to the Matresses.

Tara had a birthday party. It was Godfather themed. So fun. Those girls know how to throw a party.
Anyways, I have my Organic Chemistry final tomorrow morning. I should probably get back to that...

Study Time.

Late last night, Heidi and I went to the library to meet up with my friend Jon to study (its finals week). While we were walking in, we ran into Heidi's friend Bryan. After about 20 minutes of absolutely no studying in the library, the four of us end up at our place to watch Juno for the 3rd time in 24 hours.
Good work, guys.

Trash Party.

Today, the girls of CT 36 had a "Lets take out the trash!" Party.
Our trash has really been building up lately and it was starting to stink up the place. It was really becoming a problem. So, today while I was on campus I made an event on facebook that we were all going to take out that trash tonight at 9 and sent it to my roommates. Fortunately, they both said they were attending.
It was the best party ever.
Here's what the invitation said:
It's that time again guys, time to take out the trash.
I don't know if you noticed, but our kitchen has been smelling really bad lately and I'm pretty sure I've figured out where its coming from: those bags of garbage we've had laying around for the last couple days. Maybe we should do something about it?
Also, have you been inside Ally's room lately? Heidi, you really messed that place up. Maybe you could help her out a little and take out one of those 50 million bags of garbage she has in her room. Its the least you can do, considering its your fault
Here's the plan: We are going to meet in the kitchen of Chatham Towne 36 at 9:00 with all of our trash and then we are going to walk over to the dumpster together. Sound good?
Does anyone remember how to get to the dumpster though? Its been awhile since I've been there so I'm not really sure how to get there anymore. I'll probably get lost so I'm going to need someone else to lead the way.

New Plan.

So, here is my new plan.

For as long as I have been in college, I have always planned to take the DAT after my Junior year, somewhere around May 2009ish. Now, I have decided I am going to take it in about 3 months... almost a year earlier than originally planned.

I decided this a couple of days ago when I discovered I didn't get the job I wanted for the summer. Suddenly, the summer became very open and I needed to find something to do for the next 4 months here in Provo. So, that got me thinking. I only have 2 more classes to take before I can take the DAT, Physiology and Genetics, and I was planning on taking them this fall. I decided that I am going to take them in the spring instead, take a DAT Prep course this summer and then take the DAT around August and just be done with it while everything is still fresh on my mind.

Good plan. I'm pretty excited about it (and nervous). I really don't know why I didn't think of it before.

Weekend with Danni.

I hung out with my friend Danni a lot this weekend. She and I met our very first semester of college in the summer when we lived on the same floor in Heritage. She is so great and I love having her as a friend. Whenever I need a friend to go out dancing with me, I know who to call.

On Friday, Ally, Danni and I went to Rock the Block and we, well... Rocked the Block. So much fun. We had to call it a night early though because all the dancing messed up Ally's stitches from her Nitric Acid burn. Seriously. Poor Ally.

On Saturday night, Danni and I went to this Bonfire Bash up in the canyon and had a blast. I seriously wasn't planning on having as much fun as I did. It was just a ton of people centered around this giant bonfire. We had a fun night filled with dancing, hanging out with people and mattress jumping (haha).
The party ended and we were not ready to go. I came home and I was just filthy. I had ash everywhere. Its a good thing that spring is finally here because my favorite UGG boots are trash.

Sealants for Smiles.

On Saturday morning, I volunteered at Sealants for Smiles at the UVSC Dental Hygiene clinic. It's this program that does dental work on underprivileged children. I was there as a part of the BYU Pre-Dental Club to give presentations to the kids on how to brush their teeth properly and what not. However, more than half of the kids who were signed up to come didn't even show. So, I basically had nothing to do and just spent the entire time sitting around and talking to the other BYU students.
After awhile, one of the Dental Hygienist came out and was like, "Well, we have all these Dental Hygienists around with nothing to do, who wants free Sealants?" and I was like, "I do!"
So, I got free sealants. The end.

Catching up.

Its been over a month since I last blogged. I did a lot of catching up today. Here are a bunch of things that have happened since I last posted. I've got about seven new posts here so make sure you read them all... and comment. Enjoy!

Caroline's Bridal Shower.

My friend Caroline is getting married next month and yesterday was her bridal shower. I had such a good time. It was so good catching up with all the San Antonio girls I went to high school with. Some of them I haven't seen for two years.

Ally and I with the Bride-to-be. Congrats Caroline!

Upon leaving, Ally and I discovered that our car had been booted. Boo. Apparently we weren't allowed to park where we did. I didn't have any money with me so Ally had to pay the $50 to get the boot off. haha.

Good-Bye.

On Friday, Ashlie moved back home to North Carolina. Sad, sad day. Her friendship and having her here was such a blessing for me. I would not be the person I am right now if you hadn't come to live here. Every moment with her was a blast. I will miss you so much Ashlie. Please come and visit! There will always be a place for you here in Chatham Towne.

Poor Ally.

About three weeks ago, while working in a Chem Lab, Ally accidentally got some Nitric Acid spilt on her. This was powerful stuff. We're talking anhydrous 18 M HNO3. It burned her skin instantly and left a nasty burn on her arm. She has been in and out of the dermatologist for weeks now and the burn just wasn't healing. When she went in on Friday, they decided to just cut the burn out and stitch the skin back together. So there you go. 20 stitches.

Dinner with the Boyds.

Another Germany reunion. This time it was in honor of the Boyd's being in town. So good to see them.

I'm a winner.

Last month, I went to a BYU Volleyball game and ran into my friend Jeremy. He is in charge of all the activities and entertainment and stuff at the games. He somehow convinced me to play one of the half-time games where you stand on one side of the court and try to serve the ball into a basket on the other side of the court. I honestly don't know how, but somehow, magically, I did it.
I won a DVD player!

Last week, I won an ipod!
My friend Nate works at this company called Mozy. In January, I entered this drawing that his company was sponsoring. Three months later, I win.
I am defintley on a role right now. I wonder what I'll win next month...

Happy Birthday Nate.

We celebrated my friend Nate's birthday last weekend. Party. Concert. And me doing a whole lot of coughing since I was just getting over bronchitis. Fun night.
Happy Birthday Nate.

Festival of Colors.
